Why Wont My Computer Turn On?
If your computer won’t turn on then you could be starting to panic. You could have many important files sitting on your computer and are worried that you will not be able to access them again. And to be honest this could actually be a real possibility unless you have done a recent backup. But there are a number of things that you can check before really getting too anxious. There is probably a very simple reason why your computer won’t turn on.
- It might just be a case that your battery has completely drained, if you are using battery power. You will find that the length of time that your battery can hold a charge diminishes with age until it gets to the point where it cannot hold a charge at all. You might be able to get your computer working if you plug it in to a mains switch.
- If the computer is already plugged in then make sure all the connections are plugged in properly. Change the power outlet you are using and check that there is electricity in the rest of the house.
- Many people have thought that their computer is broken only to later find that they had the brightness turned down. This is a common mistake and you should check this now; make sure that the brightness button is turned up.
- Listen to your computer to see if you can hear any sounds coming from it. Are there any lights working on it and can you hear the CD Rom working. The problem is not going to be with your power supply if these are working.
- Resetting the computer could make a difference so try doing this.
If your computer still doesn’t work after you have tried a few of these things then you should contact the professionals. At best they should be able to get your computer working properly again and at worst they should be at least able to retrieve your files.
