Which Is Better: The Games Console Or The PC

When the games consoles of the mid eighties and early nineties went head to head with the personal computers of the day, a debate about which was better arose and this topic has been hotly debated every since. But where are these old games consoles and personal computers now? The Commodore is not something that many young people today have even heard of and when Sega Dreamcast went up against the Playstation, it never really recovered.

Whether the lessons were learnt or not still remains to be seen but the arguments between the console market and the PC platforms are still raging. For those in favour of the games console the main contenders they have in their corner are the PS3 and the Xbox 360. These consoles are offering gamers the ability to play HD gaming and with the huge popularity in online gaming, it is no wonder that kids these days are choosing to stay in instead of going outside even in the middle of summer.

With the size of the market for games these days, it is possible for game developers to spend an obscene amount of money on the creation of them. However with so many hackers about these days, it is less likely that the same money will be spent on developing games for the PC and this market suffers as a result.

However when you actually consider the features and power required for gaming, the PC will win hands down. The console simply cannot live up to the PC in terms of super fast multi core systems which can run super high details over six screens at a time. One of the true signs of a serious gamer is when you hear the cooler fans running in a room that is similar to a room in NASA. So with all this technology at hand how long is it going to be before the consoles catch up again?
