Website Design Planning for Internet Marketers

For IMs, we are now in the fifth generation of website design technology.   For IMs who have recreated their site several times we wanted to provide guidance – and for newbie IMs as well.   Without devoting thousands of words to this subject we wanted to provide a concise update on both current and strategic trends that you should consider, especially if you are planning any changes to your site.

Beginning at the beginning – is original website design.  This presupposes the use or application of a web authoring package or software solution.  Many IMs, especially ones that are just starting out, are tempted to buy a template to get started.   While some of this cannot be argued against, we caution you not to venture down the little-and-simple to big-and-costly road if you can avoid it.  What we mean on this point is the oft-experienced tendency to buy and implement a template and subsequently be forced to scrap it in favor of a from-scratch site because of the need to provide technologically changes that cannot be implemented within the confines of a template.

If you will be selling the same products in the same way five years from now, then using a template is fine.   However, if you are in a market, industry of area of marketing that is subject to the whips and spins of both technology and the marketplace in general, we caution you against this easy way to getting a website up and running.

What is at issue here is the degree of specialization and/or technology specification that will be required down the line to support the natural evolution of your website.  For example, if you utilize a website template you will probably forego the use and, hence, acquisition of a web authoring package.  Subsequently, if you decide to add, for instance, a flash video to your site, you will in all likelihood need to provide sufficient technology specification so as to effect its implementation.  This is something that will require some sort of web authoring software to accomplish.

Yes, there are templates and ‘brown and serve’ sites that allow you to forego any specification – achieving implementation solely with parameters – but these quickly run out of gas in terms of specialization.   Thus, you will be required to acquire some sort of web authoring software.  In addition, it will be more effort to modify the templates than to produce new pages – so you will probably end up recreating your entire site.   Hopefully, we have made our point.  You can purchase and download a top registry software package that does this. They also perform the other registry fix functions that accomplish any needed Registry Repair.
